Prof. Alfred Ikeme, the first Nigerian cardiologist, the first professor of medicine from the University of Jos, the foundation Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and first Chief Medical Director of the Jos Univerity Teaching Hospital among other lifetime achievements  was honored by the academics in the field of medicine, family and friends recently at the Carter Conlon Conference Center, Lamingo Dam, Jos with a lecture titled “The Metabolic Syndrome: A Cardiovascular and Endocrine Disorder at the Prof. A.C Ikeme Foundation Lecture 2017”.
