FASA DEFEATS VETENARY MEDICINE

The faculty of arts soccer team defeated the faculty of veterinary medicine soccer team by six goals to nil in the ongoing Vice Chancellor’s Cup at the Jerry T. Useni stadium Naraguta Campus recently.

The first half of the match ended with the arts team leading the scoreline with a goal to nil but things got worse for the Vet.Med Team in the second half of the match as they kept conceding goals that led them to be the first team to have conceded more goals than any other side in the competition so far.

The six goals were all that Team Arts needed to automatically qualify for the next round of the competition though still having a match at hand against the Faculty of Engineering.

Speaking to the press in his post-match remarks, the Vet.Med Team’s director of sports said that “we couldn’t match their ability; they were just too good for us and I think they really deserve the result. He further stated that “they have learned a great lesson today and that leaves them with a heavy load to carry because they also have a match at hand against the Faculty of Engineering and we may qualify hopefully if we win and they (engineering) loss to Arts”.

In his post-match remarks, the director of sports of the Faculty of Arts Students Association, Segun Osaze, said” I’m happy that we won our first match which records the highest number of goals so far in the tournament and above all it was a clean sheet. But then the job is not done. We have to keep improving match after match, and we shouldn’t start dancing yet until we make history”.
