The National University Commission (NUC), began their accreditation activities recently in the Department of Architecture, Naraguta Campus of the University of Jos.
The students of the department used the accreditation exercise as an opportunity to showcase their artwork around which were displayed in the department as an exhibit to showcase their hard work and talent.
In an interview with one of the students, Joshua Best, he said, “As much as they teach us the science of architecture, they also ensure that we work on the art and creativity that architecture requires.”
The artwork of the students showed their creativity, talent, hard work and commitment to their studies. Two of the artworks on display were created by Ngabako Shem, a 200 level student who got his inspiration from real life experiences.
A meeting also held between the NUC team and the students of the department. The students aired out the challenges they faced while the NUC team advised the students on their road towards academic excellence. The department was also commended by the NUC team for its neatness and artful nature.
The accreditation activities came to an end successfully, as the head of the department, Architect Dr. Sati Y. C, commended the students who took it upon themselves to clean up their lecture halls as he also encouraged them to live up to the standard they have set.
