The Good Shepard Chaplaincy Choir

The choir of the Good Shepherd Catholic Chaplaincy, the University of Jos on the 10th of November, 2018 held it’s provincial musical concert titled “Forum for the Enculturation of Liturgical Music (film)” at the Good Shepherd Catholic Chaplaincy, Naraguta campus.

At the event, Dr. Ode Michael a lecturer with the department of management sciences, the University of Jos, expressed his joy and support to the choir for organising such a program.

Dr. Ode urged students to always make time for God where ever they find themselves and also pray for peace and development of our country Nigeria.

Explaining the essence of the program, which was titled “Film as a Forum for the Enculturation of Liturgical Music”. Mr. Francis said it means the beautiful renditions/songs composed by university students in Nigeria into various local dialects to be used during Mass for the benefit of those who cannot understand the Latin and the English language. “However, it aids the spread and proclamation of God’s gospel”, he said.

He encouraged students to always try to compose songs that will one day not only be use in Nigeria but the whole world.
