The association of mass communication students (AMCOMS) electoral committee(ELCOM) officially released the results of the election conducted on Monday the 4th day of march 2019.

As released, Itodo Timothy emerged president defeating his opponent Kwapyil Emmanuel with 267 number of votes, as Gwayai Bawa emerged vice president. Others are Idoko Francis (director of socials), Yusuf Abidemi (secretary general), Ojelade Felix (assistant secretary general), Lilian Ayong (treasurer), Jwan panshak (P.R.O,) Dapak Collins (financial secretary), Suzan Kwede (welfare secretary), Manju Dahghas (director of sports), and lastly Akande Titilayo (library secretary). It was also announced that only 306 number of students voted and 4 invalid votes was announced.

The electoral committee said they appreciate the students who came out to vote but were a bit disappointed that almost half of the students didn’t come out to vote. They also apologized for not starting on time [10 A.M] and thanked God for a successful election and the students for their cooperation which resulted to a free and fair election. They lastly said they hoped those elected will not disappoints the department.

Itodo Timothy, the department’s president-elect in his victory speech, said he appreciates the department’s students for the trust they have for him by making him fit to be the department’s President by giving him their votes. He pledged not to disappoint the department but rather take the department to greater heights.

A 100 level student of the department, Simi Makai, said she is proud of the department’s electoral committee for a job well done, as she also  pointed out on how  happy she was because, all her candidate choices emerged winners and hoped they do their best before the next session.
