The long-awaited Grand Opening of the management science faculty took place on the 18th of November 2019 at the University of Jos Naraguta Campus.
The event which was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Seddi Sebastian Maimako, had in attendance dignitaries, staff and students of the university community.
The vice-chancellor who spoke during the handing over ceremony of the newly completed management science faculty building said that his administration would always focus on infrastructural and social welfare projects that would add value to the University of Jos community.
The commissioning which also had in attendance, Architect Halima Auta, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (academics) Nelson Ochekpe, were thrilled with a cultural dance performance which the Vice-chancellor actively joined in.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of keys from the contractor to the Vice-chancellor which was handed over to the Chief Security Officer.
Speaking to one of the students, Gabriel Ephraim a hundred level accounting student, he was happy for the Grand Opening of the faculty building and thanked the University management for the new achievement.
Also to another hundred level accounting student, Abba Shallom Nenkimum, said she was delighted with the opening of the faculty building as well, as they usually go round the campus looking for lecture halls before, but with this development, they can now have a conducive learning environment.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Vice-Chancellor (Seddi Sebastian Maimako) to God for a successful project, President Muhammadu Buhari, the minister of education (Adamu Adamu), Deans, HoDs, faculty staff and the entire students of faculty of management science and the University at large.
